Is This All Just A Distraction?
Trump could be trying to bury the real breaking news.
The news over the past few days has been utterly nuts. Musk and Trump slinging deranged insults and threats at each other, Steve Bannon calling for Musk to be deported, and Trump going off the handle and sending the National Guard and Marines to LA, massively escalating a mostly peaceful and justifiable protest. Whenever either Musk, Trump or Bannon start making a lot of noise, we should always ask, “What are they trying to hide?” Bannon has openly talked about MAGA’s “Flood The Zone” tactic of throwing as much mental chaotic shit at the news, overwhelming media outlets, and allowing them to conduct their actual heinous intentions out of sight. Interestingly, Bannon was also key to Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election and claims that Trump will definitely become President again in 2028. And guess what? It looks like the 2024 elections were massively tampered with in favour of Trump. This should be headline news absolutely everywhere, but it isn’t. We are distracted by Trump’s bullshit yet again. So, let’s focus on the big news.
This all started with a Lawsuit in Rockland County, New York, brought forward by the bipartisan election watchdog SMART Legislation. According to Lulu Friesdat, Founder and Executive Director of SMART Legislation, “There is clear evidence that the senate results are incorrect, and there are statistical indications that the presidential results are highly unlikely.” Lofty claims, and ones Supreme Court judge Justice Rachel Tanguay has taken seriously. Back in May, she ruled that the evidence was sufficient enough for the discovery process to begin. This will allow SMART to subpoena records, question election officials under oath, analyse original paper ballots, and move this case forward.
But what evidence does SMART have?
Well, take the Senate race in Rockland County. They found that more voters claimed to have voted for independent US Senate candidate Diane Sare than the Rockland County Board of Elections had counted and certified by a very wide margin. This heavily suggests that either votes were thrown out or miscounted.
However, the most painfully obvious evidence is in the Presidential race. There are numerous districts in Rockland that voted for the Democratic candidate, Kirsten Gillibrand, for Senate but who also registered zero votes for Kamala Harris in the Presidential race. A single district having such a discrepancy would be a highly suspicious and unlikely statistical anomaly, but multiple districts doing this is a giant waving red flag of election tampering.
Okay, so why does this matter? This is only one county, and Congress has certified the election, so Trump can’t be removed.
To be honest, we don’t know if this alleged election tampering is limited to this one county. SMART isn’t big enough to investigate the entire US voting system. Likewise, we also don’t know if the weaknesses potentially exploited here are unique to Rockland or nationwide. As such, if this lawsuit is successful in uncovering such tampering, it could trigger nationwide audits and investigations. Not only is there the potential for such wide-scale scrutiny to reveal that Trump actually lost in 2024, but it can also prevent any future plans by Bannon and Trump to manipulate the 2028 election. No wonder they want us to look elsewhere.
Especially as a SMART report has already found that this potentially isn’t isolated to Rockland.
Now, I couldn’t find any information about this report on Google, and it was driving me crazy as I had heard of it. So, I switched to Bing.com, and I suddenly had a page full of articles and pieces on in… Is Google suppressing this story? I can’t say with a sample size of one, but it’s damn worrying, nonetheless.
This report found that a private lab called Pro V&V made sweeping changes to the ES&S voting systems, namely to the printer, firmware and the electionware reporting system, just before the 2024 Presidential election. Pro V&V should have labelled these changes as major, triggering federal oversight into them. But SMART found that they instead labelled them as “de minimis,” meaning no public scrutiny or tests were conducted to certify these changes wouldn’t affect voting. These machines were used in Pennsylvania, Florida, New Jersey, and California, and Trump won in all but one of those states. I cannot overstress the significance of this issue. SMART themselves have said, “This wasn’t just a glitch in some sleepy county. It was a stress test of our entire system.” In fact, many political writers are pointing to this report and saying that Kamala may have actually won the 2024 election, just as almost every election prediction and poll leading up to the election suggested.
You heard me right. There is a chance that the 2024 election was rigged, and Kamala actually won. But, as I said, SMART isn’t big enough to prove that; however, if their New York case is successful in proving voter tampering, it will trigger audits, investigations and even lawsuits from other election watchdog bodies across the entire US. This snowballing momentum could get to the bottom of this. It would also generate a media frenzy that Trump, Bannon and Musk might not be able to drown out.
Sure, we should operate as innocent until proven guilty. But we should have been worried and suspicious when Trump started claiming the Democrats would try to rig the 2024 election. Fascist movements often falsely accuse their rivals of the heinous actions they desperately want to commit. Why? Because they need to justify their actions. Fascists are all about gaining power no matter what; they are maximally Machiavellian. That is insanely off-putting, even to the right-wing voting public, as Elon has proven. Therefore, by accusing the other side of despicable actions, they can justify their own internally. “The Democrats were stealing the election, so we had to steal it back.” This was the mentality that triggered the Jan 6th insurrection, and it was heavily rehashed and pushed by Trump in the lead-up to the 2024 election. So, is it really all that surprising that there is evidence the 2024 election was rigged in Trump’s favour?
What is happening in LA and between Musk and Trump is important. But we still need to cut through the noise. Getting the news about SMART out there and supporting their excellent work (click here to do that) is one of the few ways you can truly impact this administration by holding the potentially false foundation of its power to account.
