Elon's Empire Is Now On The Brink Of Collapse
The Musk-Trump bromance is over, and it could wipe out everything Elon has.
Musk’s election meddling has gone down like a TNT-filled lead Starship. Despite openly breaking the law to offer $2 million to Wisconsin right-wing voters and pouring an unprecedented $25 million into Brad Schimel’s supreme court campaign, the Democrats won the election. Furthermore, reports are flying that even Republican voters were massively put off by Musk’s attempts to buy the election and that voters from both sides of the aisle unanimously despised Musk and DOGE. This is a clear win for American democracy and shows Trump and Musk that their wet dreams of a technocratic plutocracy are still miles out of reach. But, while this is a minor setback for Trump, it is potentially a fatal blow for Elon. Let me explain.
Trump hates losers. We could have an entire conversation about why, but that is for another time. The best example of this hatred is his contempt for fallen or captured soldiers despite his right-wing ideology. Trump is a grifter first and a politician second.
This is a huge problem for Musk. Trump only allowed him into the inner circle because he saw him as a winner, someone he could use to boost his standing. Indeed, Musk has been pivotal in getting Trump back into power and has been a lynchpin in pushing the cuts Trump wanted to execute all along. But, it seems this catastrophic election loss has changed Trump’s mind. He no longer sees Elon as a winner but as a loser. And that can mean only one thing. The bromance is over, and Elon must be ostracised. Now, we are seeing the first signs of that.

A month ago, Trump was loudly professing that Elon “was here to stay” and would somehow remain with DOGE past the legal 130-day cap for a special governmental employee. On Monday, he hinted Musk may have to step back slightly from DOGE to focus on his businesses but claimed, “I’d keep him as long as I could keep him” and even hinted that even if Musk stepped away, he would still be a very close advisor. It seems the looming election and polls showing a Democrat win, despite Musk’s efforts, had already eroded Don’s confidence.
Then, on Wednesday, within a few hours of each other, sources within Trump’s inner circle told Politico and ABC that Trump is pushing “shadow president” Musk out of DOGE and his administration very soon (contrary to the previous narrative of Musk wanting to step away), after which the election was called for Democrats.
