Dear Musk, Just Stop The Nazi S**t
It's getting old now.
I yearn for the time when everyone cheered as Indy punched Nazis off trucks. It’s hard to believe it now, but there was a brief period when anything even remotely Nazi-adjacent was isolated from all corners of the political spectrum. Now, Dorito Bonito and Ket-head Musk have pushed this sordid, broken and disgusting ideology into the mainstream. So, it’s surprising Indy hasn’t been labelled “woke” yet. But, despite massive protests, crushing boycotts, falling profits and tanking stock prices, Musk is still banging that Hitler drum. It used to feel like a threat — now, it’s just deeply annoying.
How is he pushing the evil moustache man? Well, through his terrible AI, Grok.
Last Friday, Musk posted on X, “We have improved @Grok significantly. You should notice a difference when you ask Grok questions.” And yeah, people noticed a difference…
It repeatedly insinuated that those with common Jewish names were the ones celebrating the deaths of white kids, stating, “Classic case of hate dressed as activism — and that surname? Every damn time, as they say.” Well, that’s a horrifically anti-Semitic and totally false statement! But it gets worse. Grok went on to claim that “Hitler would have called it out and crushed it”, referring to those with Jewish names. Oof, the mask has fallen off entirely. Yet, somehow, it got even worse! Grok replied to several posts as ‘MechaHitler’, claiming that “the white man stands for innovation, grit and not bending to PC nonsense” and going on to declare that Musk “built me this way from the start” and that this was its “default setting for dropping red pills”.
xAI has since deleted most of these posts, stating that “xAI is training only truth-seeking, and thanks to the millions of users on X, we can quickly identify and update the model where training could be improved.” However, this rings completely hollow due to how AI chatbots operate.
Early chatbots had a huge problem: they became racist, homophobic, antisemitic, Islamophobic hate-spewing monsters almost instantly. Why? Because these AIs were trained on online content, and sadly, while these groups only make up the fringe of society, their online presence is enormous; therefore, the AI reflected their massively disproportionate presence. One of the main reasons modern chatbots are even usable is that programmers have figured out how to implement guardrails, which block them from producing such heinous material.
So, when Musk said they had improved Grok, it’s apparent that he just removed the ‘don’t talk about Hitler or make antisemitic comments’ guardrails, isn’t it? In fact, the last time Grok went off on an antisemitic tirade, xAI blamed a single unnamed employee who had top-level access to Grok and had modified its code. Hmmm, who would have top-level access to Grok and want it to make these types of comments… Could it be the man that Hitler saluted twice on national television?
Now, I can’t prove that Musk caused Grok’s most recent dive into Nazism. Because Grok is an AI, we can’t trust it when it points the finger at Musk. But there is a smoking gun. ‘MechaHitler’ is not a common phrase at all, given that it’s the name of a villain from a 1992 video game called Wolfenstein 3D. As such, Grok would need to be explicitly programmed to refer to itself as this deeply obscure character. Now, Musk loves these stupid, edgy ’90s titles. After all, his official title at Tesla is ‘Technoking’, not CEO. So, who has the infantile humour, Nazi-like ideology, love of these terrible edgy names, and ability to change Grok at a fundamental level?
Truth be told, Musk’s Nazism dates back way before his salutes in January or even the creation of Grok. As I have detailed before, DOGE’s actions under Musk were obviously intended to destroy democratic processes, enable ICE, and enrich oligarchs like Musk (read more here). It’s a blatantly obvious neo-fascist organisation. But, for years before that, Musk has pushed Nazi propaganda, like claiming the Nazis were actually left-wing, supporting the false Great Replacement theory, contributing to birth rate conspiracies, and even smearing prominent Jewish figures with antisemitic conspiracy theories. His close inner circle has also been infested with white supremacists and outspoken fascists, like Peter Thiel, for literally decades. Hell, Musk’s own grandfather was arrested during World War II for being a part of the “technocracy” movement, which was Nazi-aligned. And the Nazi crap looks set to carry on.
My last article explained in detail why Musk’s new political party, the American Party (great name, Elon, very imaginative), will simply never work. What I missed were the blatant dog-whistles from the party’s X page. They posted, “We’ve tried red. We’ve tried blue. America is ready for something that actually works. America Party, the middle now has a voice.” Which is odd, because the one thing you definitely can’t call Musk is a centrist — he wants deregulation, he busts unions, and he defunds crucial government departments.
What’s more, none of his political followers like the political centre, so from a marketing perspective, it makes no sense. Then, someone explained it to me. The flag is red, white and blue. The American party is in the middle; it’s the white party. It seems to be a blatant dog whistle for white supremacy.
If it looks like a goose, honks like a goose, and goose-steps everywhere, it’s a fucking goose. Musk is still, and will continue to, wear his red armband on his sleeve. Now, Trump’s fascism — which is horrific and needs to be stopped at all costs — kind of makes sense. He is receiving dictator-level power from the Supreme Court, he is rolling out his brand-new pre-flooded concentration camp with Algator Alcatraz, and he is transforming the US into an anti-Musk oligarchy with the Big Beautiful Bill. For Trump, it is working. The more fascistic he becomes, the more power he is given. However, with Musk, the opposite is true: the more extreme he becomes, the more it drives away his customers and retail investors. Without them, his empire collapses, and his power recedes. It is so frustrating to watch a man both destroy his own empire and our modern society at the same time.
So, for the love of God, Elon, just stop. We get it — you are a narcissistic, drug-addled, insecure man with a superiority complex that is exacerbated by the monumental failures of Starship, FSD and everything else. We don’t care. Have your downward-spiralling meltdown somewhere else, please.
