The end result, I think is that having been extended to ludicrous lengths by corporate owners, then gradually wound back by popular resistance, copyright (and IP in general) is about to collapse under the attacks of a different group of corporates. We will have to shift to different ways of financing innovation and artistic creation, such as prizes and public funding.
